The three cone drill bit consists of more than 20 components such as cutting structure, bearing structure, locking element, oil storage sealing device, nozzle device, etc. Its structure mainly includes four parts: tooth palm body, cone body, bearing system, and nozzle. The hydraulic system is an important component of the structural design of a three cone drill bit, and the rationality of the hydraulic system design directly affects the service life and mechanical drilling speed of the drill bit.

Under the action of drilling pressure and drill string rotation, the three cone drill bit crushes and eats into the rock with its teeth, while producing a certain degree of sliding and shearing of the rock. When the roller cone rolls at the bottom of the well, the teeth on the roller cone successively impact and press into the formation. This effect can crush a part of the rock at the bottom of the well, and at the same time, the shear effect caused by the sliding of the roller cone can cut off the remaining rock between the teeth. The main ways in which the three cone drill bit breaks rocks are impact and crushing. The impact force and static pressure generated by its longitudinal oscillation all lead to the impact and crushing effect of the teeth on the soil; The auxiliary methods are sliding and shearing, and the radial and tangential movement on the teeth causes a shearing effect underground, fracturing the rock between the teeth; The erosion effect of jet is the impact of a rapid jet sprayed from a nozzle on the rock underground, assisting in the fragmentation of the rock
